Following our post earlier in the year, we’re delighted to announce the approval of a revised scheme for the conversion of a Barn building in West Sussex.

The original scheme proposed the creation of two 2-bedroom properties over the ground floor of an existing steel framed barn building.  These spaces would have benefited from remarkably high ceilings utilising the full height of the existing structure as under the old rules adding a first floor was deemed unacceptable.

Following the recent changes and clarifications, we were able to revise the scheme to create two 4-bedroom houses over two floors, creating a much more family friendly layout at ground floor with spacious accommodation at first floor. 

This scheme will be submitted for Building Regulations approval shortly with construction due to commence early next year.  The construction works will be carried out as a self-build by the sons of the current owner, meaning the family can be closer together.  We love a happy ending!
