Located within a Conservation Area, this small extension was designed to be sensitive to its prominent position and to the surrounding area.
The site was a small triangle of land between the road and the existing Victorian house which necessitated a break from the norm when it came to the design – a traditional pitched roof would result in a quite peculiar appearance.
The solution was to create a flat roofed extension which would be disguised as a garden wall. This approach allowed us to extend right up to the property boundary and thus maximise the space gained on this tricky site, resulting in a larger kitchen and the creation of a ground floor WC & cloakroom.
